Additional Information: If your student(s) will be riding a different bus that they usually would during the school year (to go to a friend’s house, etc.), the parent/guardian needs to contact Stefany at the District Office 2-3 DAYS IN ADVANCE in order to receive a bus pass for their student. Transportation Department 2018 2019 In May, 2019, US News and World Report released its rankings of America's best high schools. For the second year in a row, Detroit Lakes High School was ranked in the top 10% of all high schools in the nation. Further, ranked DLHS 53rd out of over 500 high schools in Minnesota. The rankings of the high school s as conducted by US News is based upon the individual high school's performance on their required state assessments. In Minnesota, that would be Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA's). Other criteria for ranking is the individual school's graduation rate, and participation in Advanced Placement program. "We are so pleased with these designations from US News and World Report," said Superintendent Doug Froke. "This is no doubt a collaborative effort of students, staff and parents."
